Midwife Work

We offer comprehensive care from pregnancy to postpartum. Here you find an overview of all our services.

Introduction Meeting

Finding the right midwife is very important. Because we ensure your physical and emotional well-being with trusting, professional, and individual accompaniment. In a non-binding introduction meeting, you get to know a midwife and receive all information about possible pregnancy or postpartum care.

Free and non-binding • about an hour

Prenatal Care

Prenatal care according to maternity guidelines. You can certainly have your prenatal checkups with us. We take a lot of time for this and monitor your health and your baby's health. We perform all routine examinations recommended in the maternity guidelines.

Midwives are authorized to independently perform all prenatal examinations (except ultrasound) prescribed in these guidelines.

These include, for example:

  • Pregnancy confirmation and issuance of the maternity record
  • Medical history and monitoring of pregnancy progression
  • Blood pressure measurement, urine and weight checks
  • Blood draws and laboratory results
  • Monitoring of fetal heart sounds
  • Palpation of the uterus for growth control and fetal position determination
  • Documentation of all findings in the maternity record

Prenatal examinations take place from the beginning of pregnancy until the 32nd week of pregnancy regularly every 4 weeks and then every 2 weeks until the due date. Beyond the due date, they take place every 2-3 days.

Personal Consultation

Personal, continuous consultation is a core element of midwifery work. This is naturally part of midwifery care, but can also take place at appointments in addition to examinations:

  • Nutrition consultation
  • Coping with physical and emotional changes
  • Preparation for birth and decisions about the birthplace
  • Help with pregnancy discomforts
  • Support with fears, worries, or uncertainties

Support for Miscarriages

Unfortunately, not every pregnancy ends with a healthy, living child. We accompany you on this journey and care for your small birth (miscarriage) at your home.

We take time for you and your family.

Postpartum Care

Postpartum care begins immediately after birth. You can decide whether you (depending on birthplace) stay in the hospital for the first few days or go directly home.

Depending on individual needs, you can receive a daily home visit in the first 7-10 days, then every two to three days, and then weekly. In total, we can come to your home regularly until the 12th week after birth:

  • From the first day
  • Monitoring of physical recovery and mother's health
  • Individual and intensive nursing consultation
  • Observation of the newborn and assessment of development
  • Support with psychological changes and challenges
  • Accompaniment in finding a new everyday life and developing as a family
